Loretta Lewis, a 28-year-old woman, tragically lost her life on May 20, 2005. Her body was discovered floating in a canal near Jennings, Louisiana. Loretta, who was of African American descent, was the first victim in a series of unsolved murders that later became known as the 'Jeff Davis 8' or 'Jennings 8.'
