Her body was discovered in a canal, and her death was classified as a homicide. Patterson's throat had been slashed, and her wrists bore signs of a struggle, indicating the violent nature of her death. She was one of eight women, collectively known as the 'Jeff Davis 8' or 'Jennings 8,' whose deaths between 2005 and 2009 remain unsolved.
