Ernestine Marie Daniels Patterson was a 30-year-old Black woman from Jennings, Louisiana, who vanished in the middle of June 2005ï last seen on June 16, according to the Jefferson Davis Parish Sheriffï s Office. Two days later, on June 18, her body was found in the water south of town, in the same haunting landscape of canals and backroads that would soon become synonymous with the string of killings later called the Jeff Davis 8.
