In the late summer of 1992, a sense of unease settled over the small city of Zachary, Louisiana, following the disappearance of 41-year-old Connie Warner. A mother and an accountant, Warner was a familiar face in the community. On August 24, 1992, concern mounted when she could not be reached. Her daughter, Tracy, went to her home to investigate and was met with a disturbing scene that suggested a violent struggle had taken place.
