On what should have been a night of celebration, 17-year-old Dashayla Ardoin was found dead on October 12, 2024, in Acadia Parish, Louisiana. She and her 21-year-old boyfriend, Glenkeithan Robertson, were on their way to her homecoming dance at Mamou High School. The pair had reportedly just finished dinner in the Lafayette area and were traveling along the White Oak Highway when the tragic events unfolded.
Authorities from the Acadia Parish Sheriff's Office were called to the scene
around 7 p.m., where they discovered both Ardoin and Robertson inside a vehicle, each having sustained fatal gunshot wounds. The initial investigation led deputies to believe the incident was a murder-suicide. No other individuals were in the vehicle at the time of the shooting.
Based on the evidence gathered, investigators have identified Robertson as the suspected shooter. It is believed that he shot and killed Ardoin before turning the gun on himself.
