Lonnie Love Jr., a 17-year-old Black male, was fatally shot on the evening of Tuesday, June 20, 2023, in Louisville, Kentucky. The incident took place around 9:30 p.m. in the 1500 block of Cypress Avenue, near West Hill Street, in the Algonquin neighborhood. When Louisville Metro Police officers arrived at the scene, they found Lonnie who had sustained gunshot wounds. Emergency medical services pronounced him dead at the scene.
