On August 27, 2023, Colby Banks, a 35-year-old resident of Louisville, Kentucky, lost his life to gun violence. The incident occurred at the Southern Restaurant and Bar, located on West Market Street in downtown Louisville, across from the International Convention Center. The shooting took place during a goodbye party for the restaurant, which was moving to a new location. The event, which started at 11 PM on Saturday, had attracted a large crowd of approximately 300 people.
