On April 3, 2024, 33-year-old African American male Gregory Powell Jr. was found fatally shot in the 4300 block of Norbrook Drive, near the Buechel neighborhood in southeast Louisville, Kentucky. Louisville Metro Police Department officers responded to a report of a person down just before 1 a.m. Upon arrival, they discovered Mr. Powell Jr. with an apparent gunshot wound. The Jefferson County Coroner's Office confirmed that he died at the scene from the gunshot injury.
