In the late evening hours of Wednesday, August 21, 2024, the life of 41-year-old Shantell N. Potter Sr. was tragically cut short in Louisville, Kentucky. A male, Potter was discovered in Esquire Alley within the Russell neighborhood, having sustained multiple gunshot wounds. First responders rushed him to UofL Hospital in a desperate attempt to save his life, but his injuries proved to be too severe, and he was pronounced dead.
The Jefferson County Coroner's Office later officially identified him as the victim.
The circumstances surrounding the fatal shooting remain under active investigation by the Louisville Metro Police Department. At this time, no arrests have been announced in connection with the homicide, and authorities have not publicly identified any suspects or persons of interest. The investigation is ongoing, and law enforcement officials have made a public appeal for information.
