On May 4, 2024, a fatal shooting occurred in the Wilkes neighborhood of Portland, Oregon. The victim, identified as 34-year-old Ozell Shepherd of Gresham, was found dead in the street around 5 a.m. in the 15700 block of Northeast Beech Street. When officers responded to the report of a shooting, they discovered Shepherd's body on the sidewalk.

The investigation led by the Portland Police Bureau revealed that Shepherd died from a gunshot wound, as confirmed by the medical examiner.
