In the early morning hours of December 4, 2024, the life of Benjamin Walker, a 45-year-old Black/African American man, was tragically cut short in Portland, Oregon. The fatal incident occurred at a Quality Inn located in the Sumner neighborhood of Northeast Portland. Police were dispatched to the scene in the 8200 block of Northeast Sandy Boulevard around 5:15 a.m. following reports of a shooting.
