In the late hours of a Tuesday night in Portland, Oregon, the life of 32-year-old David Sanders was tragically cut short. On November 23, 2021, at approximately 10:04 p.m., officers from the East Precinct responded to reports of shots fired in the Wilkes neighborhood, near the 1300 block of Northeast 162nd Avenue. Upon their arrival, they discovered a man, later identified as David Sanders, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.
Emergency medical services were dispatched to the scene,
and Sanders was quickly transported to a local hospital in an effort to save his life. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, David Sanders succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. The Oregon State Medical Examiner's Office later conducted an autopsy and determined that the cause of his death was a homicide resulting from a gunshot wound. The family of David Sanders was notified of the devastating loss and provided a photograph of him for public release.
