Jon Marshall Nichols, a 62-year-old resident of Halfway, Oregon, died on November 10, 2024, in a tragic hunting accident. Nichols was guiding an elk-hunting trip on private property along Fish Creek, approximately a mile and a half north of Highway 86, when the incident occurred. He was accompanying two hunters, Leroy George Trautman, 73, of Beaverton, and Andrew Mark Krebs, 73, of Oregon City.
