In the late hours of a Sunday evening in Boston, the life of Orlando Watkins, a 44-year-old Black man, was tragically cut short. On March 5, 2023, inside an apartment at 940 Parker Street within the Mildred Hailey Apartments in Jamaica Plain, Watkins was found dead from gunshot wounds.
Boston Police officers had been dispatched to the residence around 11:30 p.m. for a well-being check, a routine call that quickly escalated into a homicide investigation.
Upon their arrival, they discovered Watkins, a resident of Dorchester, suffering from fatal injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
