On January 14, 2023, Andre Caldwell, a 29-year-old man, was fatally shot along with another individual, 48-year-old Jimmy Jones, at the Budget 8 Inn Motel located at 6850 E. 21st Street on the east side of Indianapolis. The incident occurred early in the morning, with police responding to a report of a person shot at approximately 6:21 a.m..
