On February 20, 2016, Alexis Gomez, a 21-year-old college student attending IUPUI, was tragically killed in his Indianapolis home. The night before his death, Gomez and his friends hosted a party at their rented house on Bazil Avenue. As the party wound down in the early hours, someone fired a shot through his bedroom window, hitting him in the head.
