In Fort Wayne, Indiana, a promising life was tragically cut short on January 28, 2023. Taylor Jordan Bushroe, a 26-year-old female, was discovered deceased in a residence on Dartford Court, the victim of a violent encounter that also left a man injured. The Fort Wayne Police Department responded to a report of a shooting at the home just after 11 a.m. and found both individuals suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.
Taylor was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Allen County Coroner's Office later confirmed that her death was a homicide caused by gunshot wounds to the head. The injured male, identified as 63-year-old Thomas Boismier, was transported to a local hospital in critical condition with what was determined to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound. He succumbed to his injuries and died at the hospital on February 3, 2023.
Following an investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department and the Allen County Coroner's Office, the incident was officially ruled a murder-suicide. Authorities concluded that Boismier's death was a suicide. The investigation supported the finding that he was the perpetrator in the death of Taylor Bushroe, making him the sole suspect and closing the case with his death.
Taylor was remembered as a gifted artist and a compassionate advocate for animals, the elderly, and the special needs community. Described as having an engaging smile and being a friend to everyone she met, her death was a profound loss to her family and all who knew her.
