On February 11, 2023, at approximately 5:16 a.m., Elkhart police responded to reports of gunshots at the North River Landing Apartments in the 2300 block of W. Lexington Avenue. Upon arrival, officers discovered 37-year-old Thomas Ray Johnson lying on the floor with apparent gunshot wounds. He was transported to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
