On April 12, 2023, a shooting incident occurred near McCormick Park in Fort Wayne, Indiana, resulting in the death of 18-year-old Brycen Demond Cassell-Thomas. The shooting took place around 6:45 p.m. during a memorial service for Tyreece Vachon, a 19-year-old who had been fatally shot the previous day outside an apartment complex.
