Ashley Lanee Bitikofer, a 34-year-old resident of Portage, Indiana, died on June 8, 2023, as a result of a violent incident in Merrillville, Indiana. The incident occurred on June 8, 2023, at approximately 11:15 PM, when Merrillville Police Officers were dispatched to the 6400 block of Mississippi Street in response to a report of a gunshot victim.
