In the quiet community of Huntertown, Indiana, a grim discovery was made on the evening of Sunday, June 18, 2023, forever altering the lives of a local family. Arjana Gllafce, a 48-year-old Caucasian female, was found deceased in her home on Shearwater Run. The tragic event unfolded after a call was made to authorities for a medical emergency, leading first responders to the residence where they would find a heartbreaking scene.
Upon entering the home, law enforcement discovered Arjana
alongside her partner, 49-year-old Arben Gllafce. Both were unresponsive and pronounced dead at the scene. The subsequent investigation by the Allen County Police Department, in conjunction with the Allen County Prosecutor's and Coroner's Offices, would reveal the devastating truth of what had transpired. The case was determined to be a murder-suicide.
The Allen County Coroner's Office confirmed that Arjana Gllafce died from multiple gunshot wounds, and her death was officially ruled a homicide. Her partner, Arben Gllafce, was found to have died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, ruling his death a suicide. Investigators concluded that Arben was the sole perpetrator in Arjana's death, leaving no outstanding suspects and therefore no arrests to be made. The incident marked the 13th homicide in Allen County for that year.
Arjana, who was born in Pogradec, Albania, was remembered as a dedicated skills coach for the Bowen Center and had previously worked at Kiddie Academy. She was a mother to two sons, Teodor and Enzo. Her life was celebrated at a funeral service held at FairHaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Fort Wayne, and she was laid to rest at Concordia Cemetery Gardens.
