On July 30, 2021, Jamel Jones, a 39-year-old man from Belton, Texas, was tragically shot and killed in the 1100 block of Shady Lane. The incident occurred around 3:11 p.m. following a personal dispute with another man. Jones was shot in the torso and died at the scene. The suspect, identified as Deon James Shamburger, fled the area in a car and later on foot.
