Austin James Sampson, a 25-year-old male, died on January 4, 2013, at Scott & White Hospital in Temple, Texas, from injuries sustained from a gunshot wound on January 2, 2013. He was a U.S. Army Specialist from Bliss, New York, and was stationed at Fort Hood, Texas. The incident occurred in a parking lot in Central Texas, and the motive behind the shooting remains unclear. Killeen police are investigating the case to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
