Dontrell Thomas-McCraney, a 22-year-old man from Temple, Texas, was shot and killed in the early hours of April 18, 2025, while traveling eastbound on Interstate 14 near Belton, Texas. The incident occurred at approximately 2:41 a.m. when police received multiple calls about a vehicle that had come to a stop in the middle of the eastbound lanes at mile marker 297, between the Simmons Road and George Wilson Road exits.
