On July 5, 2023, a tragic incident occurred in a Cumberland, Indiana apartment, resulting in the death of 4-year-old Deor Neita. Deor was shot by her 6-year-old brother in an upstairs bedroom of their residence in the 600 block of Woodlark Drive. The children were under the care of their great-grandmother at the time, who was changing a baby's diaper downstairs when the incident happened.
