On August 12, 2023, a fatal shooting occurred on the near east side of Indianapolis, resulting in the death of 26-year-old Askari Lamont Moore. The incident took place in the 2000 block of Kildare Avenue, near the intersection of East 21st Street and Emerson Avenue, a residential area close to DeQuincy Park.
