On August 20, 2023, at approximately 2:40 AM, officers from the Hammond Police Department responded to a 911 call in the 3800 block of 176th Place in Hammond, Indiana. Upon arrival, they discovered a male individual, later identified as 42-year-old Delwin McCloud Jr., on the front porch of a residence with a fatal gunshot wound.
