Dakota Scott Merritt, a 19-year-old from Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, August 29, 2023. He was born on December 4, 2003, in Brandon, Florida, and was the son of Dana Treesh.

Dakota attended Wayne Trace High School and later graduated from Delphos High School and Vantage Career Center. After his education, he pursued a career as a millwright welder at Moore Welding in Leo, Indiana. His dedication and skill in his profession were highly regarded by his coworkers.
