On September 27, 2021, Andrell Lamon, a 17-year-old male from Houston, Texas, tragically lost his life in a convenience store shooting in the Sunnyside neighborhood. The incident occurred at the Green Light convenience store located at 9635 Scott Street. Andrell was outside the store when Al Vernon Brown, 47, entered with two guns and took eight people hostage inside the store.
