Michael “Mike Treez” Chappel, a 53-year-old prominent figure in the Indianapolis entertainment scene and community advocate, was fatally shot in a triple shooting on September 3, 2023. The incident occurred in the 1000 block of West 37th Street on the northwest side of Indianapolis. According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, officers responded to a report of a person shot just before 12:30 a.m. and found a woman and two men with gunshot wounds.
