On June 2, 2024, a fatal shooting occurred in the parking lot of a Walmart located in Camby, Indiana. The victim, identified as 34-year-old Matthew Steele, was involved in a verbal and physical altercation with a 19-year-old man. According to reports, the altercation began when Steele confronted the younger man who was harassing him and his fiancée, Tiffany Waller, in the parking lot near West Mooresville Road and State Road 67.
