Jahlein Towner, an 18-year-old Black male, was fatally shot in Gary, Indiana, in a tragic encounter that unfolded on July 25, 2024. While walking with another person near his home on Colfax Street, a man in a green and white pickup truck reportedly shouted something in their direction. Believing they recognized the individual, Towner and his companion approached the vehicle.
