In the summer of 2024, a bright light in the city of Indianapolis was tragically extinguished. Jayden Terry-Labross Ewing, a vibrant and charismatic 5-year-old Black male, passed away on August 18, 2024. Known affectionately as 'Man' and 'New New,' Jayden was a boy whose laughter could fill a room and whose smile was said to be out of this world. Born on January 8, 2019, to Tiffany Simone Maxwell and Robert Earl Ewing, Jayden's life, though brief, was one filled with joy, love, and a
captivating energy that left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
The circumstances of Jayden's death were heartbreaking. On that August day, on the northwest side of Indianapolis, he sustained a fatal gunshot wound. The Marion County Coroner's Office later confirmed that the injury was self-inflicted. This tragic event cut short a life that was just beginning to blossom, leaving a void in the hearts of his family and community.
Jayden was remembered as an exceptionally bright child who was a fan of Michael Jackson and could often be found singing and dancing. He had a deep love for his family and was known for his friendly and outgoing nature, never knowing a stranger. His obituary painted a picture of a boy who was full of life and brought people together. Following his death, there have been no reports of any arrests or suspects in connection with the incident, as the cause was determined to be a self-inflicted shooting.
