On October 10, 2024, a fatal shooting occurred on the near south side of Indianapolis, resulting in the death of 26-year-old Jose Eduardo Hernandez. The incident happened in the 300 block of Park Haven Way, near the intersection of South Madison and East Southern avenues in the Garfield Park neighborhood.
