In the early evening of November 9, 2024, tragedy struck an apartment complex on the near west side of Indianapolis. Antonio Trotter Sr., a 63-year-old man, was found inside an apartment in the 3800 block of West Michigan Street, near Holt Road, suffering from a gunshot wound. Police had been called to the scene shortly before 6 p.m. on a report of a person shot. Medics arrived but were unable to save him, and Mr. Trotter was pronounced dead at the scene.
