On February 27, 2023, two men were found dead in an apartment in the Chatham neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. The discovery was made around 11:15 p.m. when an acquaintance checked on the men after they had not been heard from for a while. The acquaintance found both men deceased inside the apartment, located in the 900 block of East 80th Street.
One of the victims was identified by the Cook County Medical Examiner as 36-year-old Cordero D. Gladney.
His death was attributed to a gunshot wound to the head and was ruled a homicide. The other victim was later identified as 25-year-old Dartanyon Wheeler.
Both men appeared to have suffered gunshot wounds to the head and were pronounced dead at the scene. The exact time of the deaths is not known, and as of the current date, no one is in custody in connection with the murders.
Chicago Police Area 2 detectives are investigating the case. The police are searching for a suspect who was described as wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with gray sweatpants and white gym shoes.
