Gregory K. Travis Jr, a male from Chicago, was found shot around 10 p.m. on August 6, 2025, in the Bronzeville neighborhood, in the 3500 block of South Rhodes Avenue. Responding officers discovered the 27-year-old with a gunshot wound to the head, lying unresponsive on the pavement beneath late-summer streetlights that had already begun to thin the foot traffic. He was rushed to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where the 27-year-old male was pronounced dead that night.
