The Cook County medical examiner's office ruled Ledon's death a homicide. The shooters fled the scene and have not been located. Area Three detectives are actively investigating the case. The incident may be connected to a party in a nearby hotel, as officers found a gun in Ledon's waistband. The BMW's driver and another passenger reported that the offenders were two Black males wearing ski masks, with one of the suspects having dreadlocks. They were last seen heading eastbound on 8th Street in an older black car.
