On May 7, 2023, Jose A. Perez, a 35-year-old resident of Elmhurst, Illinois, was fatally shot in Cicero, Illinois. The incident occurred at the Cindy Lyn Motel, located at 5029 W. Ogden Ave, just before midnight on a Sunday.
