On June 17, 2023, a tragic incident occurred in Chicago, Illinois, resulting in the deaths of two young brothers, Timothy and Jaylan Lockhart. The brothers were in the 100 block of South Homan Avenue near Garfield Park when they were shot around 4:45 p.m. on a Saturday. Timothy, 14, was hit several times and succumbed to his injuries at Stroger Hospital. Jaylan, 15, suffered a gunshot wound to the head and died three days later on June 20, 2023, also at Stroger Hospital.
