Jesus Rojano Crespo, a 17-year-old boy, was fatally shot in the early hours of May 20, 2023, in Chicago, Illinois. The incident occurred around 2:20 a.m. in the 2000 block of North Pulaski Road, where Rojano Crespo was walking on the sidewalk. According to police reports, several offenders began firing shots at him, and he suffered gunshot wounds to his chest and abdomen.
Paramedics transported Rojano Crespo to Stroger Hospital in critical condition, but he was pronounced dead a short time later. The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victim as Jesus Rojano Crespo.
The Chicago Police Department, specifically the Area 5 Detective Division, initiated an investigation into the fatal shooting. During the course of the investigation, two suspects were identified and arrested.
The first suspect, Jesus A. Toledo, 19, of North Chicago, was identified as one of the offenders involved in the shooting. Toledo was tracked down and arrested on August 5, 2023, near the Walmart in the 3900 block of Fountain Square Place in Waukegan. He was charged with one count of first-degree murder and was held without bond at the Cook County Jail.
A second suspect, Kevin Noyola-Corea, 19, of Park City, was also identified and charged with one count of first-degree murder. Noyola-Corea was arrested on August 29, 2023, in the 1000 block of Lakeside Drive in Gurnee by the Chicago Police Department Area Five Homicide Investigation Support Team. He was scheduled to appear in bond court following his arrest.
