On August 16, 2013, Alford Carl Tillmon II, a 36-year-old man, was killed in a shooting incident on Jacksonville's Northside. The shooting also left a 23-year-old woman in critical condition. The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office responded to reports of gunfire and found two victims at the scene. While Tillmon succumbed to his injuries, the female victim was transported to UF Health Jacksonville, where she was treated for life-threatening wounds.
