On September 15, 2023, a fatal shooting occurred in Palatine, Illinois, resulting in the deaths of two 16-year-old boys, Eduardo Alpizar and Uriel Garcia. The incident took place in the 1800 block of Green Lane North, where police responded to reports of a shooting around 10 p.m..
