Jun Zhang, a 30-year-old resident of Palatine, Illinois, was found shot to death on the front porch of a residence in the 800 block of South Plum Grove Road on Friday, November 17, 2023. The incident occurred around 6:00 P.M. when police, firefighters, and paramedics responded to a report of a person down and bleeding. Upon arrival, officers found Zhang unresponsive with life-threatening injuries due to an apparent gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
