On October 16, 2023, Roderick Richardson, a 30-year-old man from Peoria, Illinois, was fatally shot in an incident that occurred at a residence in the 1200 block of North Ellis Street, near the intersection with Columbia Terrace on the city’s West Bluff.
The shooting took place around 5:15 a.m. during an altercation. Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood reported that Richardson suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene at 5:27 a.m..
