On October 27, 2023, Jamir Johnson, a 30-year-old resident of Gurnee, Illinois, was found dead along with another individual, 59-year-old David Miller of Lindenhurst, in a hotel room at the former Ramada Inn located at 200 North Green Bay Road in Waukegan, Illinois.
The Waukegan police responded to the hotel around 9:50 p.m. for a death investigation and discovered both men inside one of the rooms with gunshot wounds.
Preliminary autopsy results confirmed that both Johnson and Miller died from multiple gunshot wounds.
The hotel, at the time of the incident, was described as vacant, adding to the unusual circumstances of the discovery. The investigation into the deaths is ongoing, and as of the current date, no suspects have been identified or arrested in connection with the killings.
