Carlos Sanchez, a 24-year-old former high school soccer star, was fatally shot on December 11, 2023, in the Back of the Yards neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. The incident occurred at approximately 5:29 p.m. when a gunman opened fire, striking Sanchez as he stood on the sidewalk in the 4900-block of South Hoyne Avenue, just outside his alma mater, Back of the Yards College Prep.
