Kenyatta Brown, a 42-year-old woman from the Metro East area, was fatally shot on June 12, 2024, in East St. Louis, Illinois. She was found shot in the street in the 1300 block of 45th Street.
The incident involved a struggle between Brown and her boyfriend, Robert E. Hyde Jr., moments before the shooting. According to a prosecutor, Brown asked Hyde, “Why are you doing this to me?” during the altercation.
