Dion Butler, a 34-year-old resident of Chicago, Illinois, lost his life to gun violence on July 4, 2024. The incident occurred in the early hours of the morning, around 1 a.m., in the 6200 block of South Laflin Street in the Englewood neighborhood.

Butler was shot in the neck and was immediately taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries.
