Sammie Tyrone McClinton, a 45-year-old resident of Springfield, Illinois, was fatally shot on July 25, 2024. The incident occurred in the 700 block of North 5th Street, where McClinton was found with multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to HSHS St. John's Hospital by EMS but was pronounced dead shortly after arrival at 12:03 p.m..
