On August 30, 2024, a tragic incident occurred in the West Pullman neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois, resulting in the death of 49-year-old Katrina J. Brown. The incident began around 9:30 p.m. when Brown was sitting on a porch in the 11800 block of South Indiana Avenue with another man. An unknown individual in a dark-colored SUV drove by and initiated a drive-by shooting, targeting the individuals on the porch.
